Precautionary and Preventivemeasures during a Bomb Blast:-




Do’s : -

  • Always keep an eye for suspicious objects. If the suspected device is found in a building, immediately evacuate the people systematically to a safe assembly area.
  • Caution the residents of the nearby building about the suspected device.
  • Inform the Police and Bomb Disposal team immediately. (Control Room No. 100).
  • Ideally, the suspected object to be surrounded with sand bags (If available & preferably up to three times the height of suspected object).
  • Never handle an unclaimed object.
  • Notice your surroundings for anything out of place.
  • If possible, open all windows and doors.
  • Inform the nearest Fire Brigade, hospital and ambulance service.

 

Don’ts: -

  • Don’t spread rumors.
  • Don’t touch, disturb and approach the suspected object.
  • Don’t put sand bag on top of the object.
  • Don’t try to submerge the suspicious object in water or pour water on the suspected object.
  • Don’t try to open or puncture the suspicious object.
  • Don't be a Dead hero. Life is precious.
  • Don't crowd around suspected object(s).
  • Don't trust the label pasted on an innocent looking suspected object.
  • Don't use walkie-talkie, mobile phones, camera flash near the suspected object(s).
  • Don't assume that only one device has been planted.
  • Don't obstruct the approaching Bomb Disposal Squad and Police teams.
  • Don’t try to neutralize a suspected device.
